About us
Ghana's Voice for Mental Health.
In Ghana, too many people face mental health crises alone - not because no one cares, but because support is hard to find. Yonkodo Foundation exists to change that: a free helpline, trained volunteers, and campaigns that make asking for help feel possible.

We listen without judgment, every time.
Our support is free and open to everyone.
We grow stronger by supporting each other.
Our story
Built on a belief that every life matters.
Yonkodo Foundation was born from a simple recognition: too many people in Ghana were facing mental health crises alone - not for lack of care, but for lack of access. We set out to change that.

We started with a phone call
A free, confidential helpline staffed by trained volunteers - no appointments, no fees, just a compassionate voice ready to listen.
We grew into the community
From schools to workplaces, we expanded outreach to bring mental health conversations to where people actually are.
We invested in our volunteers
Structured training in active listening, mental health awareness, and referral support - because good intentions need good skills.
We started changing the culture
Anti-stigma campaigns challenging harmful misconceptions and making it safe to say "I need help" across Ghana.
Our people
The People Behind Yonkodo
Driven by lived experience, professional expertise, and a shared belief that every life deserves support.
